As a class we had a practice lesson in which we learnt how to colour grade in After Effects. We wanted to give our practice video a brighter colour over-layed too set a happy mood in our video. As a group we decided the best colour for our video would be an orange colour which brings out the bright colours in our clip and get rid of the darker ones too show the excitement of the narrative.
To do this we had too use a seperate tool in After Effects called "Colour Finesse" from this we had the option to change and effect our project how we wanted too. There were many different tools which gave us the ability to change our 40 second clip. One tool was called "Pedestool" which started us with the footage we already had and using a similar set up to "Curves" on Photoshop, we were able to make the darker colours, darker, and the lighter colours, lighter. A similar tool to "Pedestool" was "gain" which gave us the same sort of option too change what we wanted our clip too look like. We also changed our clip to "16 bit" which then gave us the option of a different set of colours as it looks at our clip at a far higher rate, giving us the option to change it as much as we can.
