LB: Festival Poster/Photoshop Practice

In term 6 of  Year 12, as well as starting to look at theorists and connotations in music videos, we also had a go on Photoshop to practice our skills, as we need to create print-work to match our music video also. Our task was to create a poster for a festival and I decided to choose a legitimate festival for 'Glastonbury'.

The main Image consists three different images; the first is the picture of the main stage where headlining acts perform, I then added another layer on top of the images of camping tents, and used the magic wand tool to erase the background and select only the tents. The third image I also used the magic wand tool, and the eraser to select hands from a concert, and put this on also.

I then applied an effect to the three Images which was already a default tool on Photoshop: "Cut-out" This made the image edgy and made the images clearer with colour and the style I was looking for. I then thought about typography and thought the most important thing to-do was to make it clear and easy to read, So I made the font, big and bold with a White Stroke around to make it clearer. Afterwards I added the band logos and applied that same cut-out effect but was not as sharp with the effect so they were not to different. And that is how I ended up with my final piece.
